Unsupervised Lockdown House Parties
The President released a statement on the 1st
of June telling the people of SA that the rules of lockdown have been eased a
little bit. The sale of alcohol was resumed and people were now allowed to move
around, go to work and some schools were reopened etc.
What really came to my attention is that,
after all those things the president said about easing up lockdown rules people
started hosting house parties left right and centre and to my own understanding
this kind of action could be the one that leads to the number of people getting
affected by this pandemic increasing. I am stating all this because once you
get infected by coronavirus you won’t instantly see its symptoms; it will take
a day or 2 to experience coronavirus symptoms.
I am not against people having fun because we
have been indoors for a long time but a little bit of thinking before doing
something would help us get through this fight. Some of these house parties are
not really supervised because people are not wearing face masks at all and who
would enjoy the groove with their friends being 2 metres away from them? No one
.At first we were told that if ever people gather in large numbers they should
at least write their names and particulars down.
We all know that the reason why they would force
us to jog down our names is to know how many people were there and if one of us
is infected then we’d know those who might be in danger. There are so many
risks to this because if ever you are infected that could also mean that your
whole family is in danger of getting coronavirus. Think about those innocent
people who have been abiding by the rules of this lockdown, now they will be
affected because you were not patient enough.
If one could walk around the streets you
would swear that this thing of coronavirus is of the past. People are walking
normally, they are carrying on with their lives as normal and they fear
nothing. You could wear a mask going to the local supermarket to buy something
and you would be one of the two who are wearing masks, you would somehow feel
like a fool. People would only wear masks when they go to the malls or when
they travel for a distance.
There was this one individual who got tested
and found positive to COVID-19 this particular person went to a house party
knowing very well that he is infected with Coronavirus instead of isolating
himself. So according to the Disaster Management Act, 2002 relating to
coronavirus: Government Notice 318 of 2020: Chapter 1:11(6) says that “Any
person who intentionally exposes another person to COVID-19 may be prosecuted
for an offence, including assault, attempted murder or murder”.
So whenever people think about going to house
parties they should keep in mind that there are some people won’t just die
alone
Ignorance in the name of fun will kill a lot of people
ReplyDeleteHonestly 😭❗. People are endangering their loved ones in the name of "having fun"
